Welcome to the SOS Class - Student Organizational Skills!
 
The SOS Class is an introduction to basic work management and organizational skills you'll need to do well in middle school. 
 
The benefits of being an organized student include:
* Better Grades
* Less Stress
* More Free Time
* Boost to Self-Confidence
 
6th grade will take the SOS Class 1st trimester - 3rd period on Wednesdays from 10:01-10:39 - in Mrs. Wenzl's room
 
Weekly lessons in organizational skills will include:  organizing a binder, using a planner, tips for working with others on a group project, self-advocating with teachers, note-taking skills, writing skills

2.  Using the School's Calendar (provided in class) - add special events (such as 'no school days', holidays, end of trimester, etc.) from the school calendar to (1) your planner, (2) to the October calendar handed out in class, or (3) both.

6th grade SOS    Homework

  1.  Review pages 23, 26, 28-31 (hint - the worksheets in the sheet protectors)
  2. Organize 1 notebook style binder (1.5 to 2 inch is preferred).  Organize the subject dividers  in order of classes throughout the day:  Math, Literature, SOS, Science, ELA, Religion, Social Studies.  (Hint - it's also a great idea to color code your classes:  Literature = Orange, SOS = Red, Science = Purple, ELA = Blue, Religion = Green, Social Studies = Yellow.)  At least one subject section (one class of your choice) should follow the "Goof Proof" method as seen on page 30. 
  3. Bring your binder to your next SOS class (next Wednesday) for a binder check.
