Lunch Program Information
Hello, and thank you for your amazing support of the St. Brendan School Lunch Program!
Our first day of hot lunch service will be Thursday, September 4th! Please note there will be no lunch or milk on the first day of school. The lunch menu is located on the school website and will be updated monthly, usually by the Weds before the end of the current month. To find the lunch menu, from the home page of the school website, click on parents, then lunch menu and the monthly menu will automatically display. All students are automatically enrolled in the school lunch program. All you have to do is decide when your student wants to order hot lunch!
Payment Options
- Credit card: If you wish to add money to your student account by credit card you will need to create an online account here: School Payment Portal . When prompted, enter 98011 for the school zip code. If you are a returning family you can use your account from last year, all information and balances transfer to the new year. You can also use this portal to login and view your student’s lunch ordering history. If you are having difficulty locating your student’s name, try using something less specific like last name only.
- Cash/Check: If you wish to pay by cash or check, send it to the school office in a clearly marked envelope with your family name on it, attention “Lunch”. If sending cash, please write the amount that is enclosed on the envelope. If you have more than one student, please make sure to indicate how much you would like deposited in each student(s) account. If no amounts are indicated, the default will be to split the amount evenly between students. Please note the lunch program cannot offer change.
Please note: In an effort to reduce cost and administrative time spent on the lunch program please try to make cash or check deposits in increments of $20.00 and above. This is not a requirement but greatly reduces administrative costs and will directly benefit the school. We cannot accept coins, coins will be returned to you.
Your student's lunch account will be allowed to go into the negative, and students can still order lunch with a negative balance. However, the standard is to maintain a positive balance from which your student draws their daily charges. All student orders will be assumed authorized unless the parent or guardian contacts [email protected] and informs Mrs. Warner otherwise. Current balances can be found using the online payment portal, and periodically balance notices will be sent to all families. It is the parents’ responsibility to check and maintain a positive balance. Your account must be paid in full for your student to receive their report cards every trimester or official records. You will be notified via email of your lunch balance at least once before the end of each trimester and negative balance accounts will also receive a paper letter before the end of each trimester. At the end of the school year, funds will automatically roll over to the next year. If a student is not returning, families have the option to donate their remaining balance, transfer to a sibling, or close out their account with a refund.
Lunch Options
Option A - standard lunch of the day with salad bar: $5.00.
Option B - salad bar only with roll and yogurt or string cheese: $4.00.
Option M -1 milk (Smith Brother’s Farms white or chocolate): 25 cents, additional milks can be ordered at 25 cents ea
Option J- 1 apple juice: 40 cents ea-4 oz juice
“X” Extra Entrée: Purchase an extra entrée (in addition to the Lunch A) for $2.00. Students simply put a x next to their (A) order in the morning to indicate they would like two entrees for the day (ex: AX= Entrée plus extra entrée). This is commonly done with pizza day, but can be done for ANY lunch.
A La Carte Grades 5-8 only are able to purchase A La Carte extras. A La Carte can be purchased as a compliment to any of the above options or can be a stand alone purchase.
Menu includes but is not limited to:
$1.25--Sparkling Ice/Gatorade/flavored non-caffeine drinks,
$1.00-chips/snack items
$1.50—Instant soups [ex: Cup O’Noodles (hot water provided)], cereal
Other Helpful Information
K-8 Students will order lunch everyday first thing when they come to school. Preschool/PreK parents can indicate what options they would like on their sign in log. The school will bill your student's lunch account.
Preschool and PreK students will eat in their classroom 11:30-12:00, K-4 (11:45-12:15) will eat at assigned tables, with their class, in the gym, and 5th-8th (12:20-12:40) eat in the gym.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer for lunch room duty. Lunch room duty counts toward your volunteer hour requirement. Parents will also be able to purchase lunch if they like and bill it to their students’ account.
