Complete the packet of Greek Roots- Unit 1. It is due on Friday. There will be a short quiz on Monday 10/26 about these words. We will work on this together on Tuesday.

The entire class will take a retake of Unit 1 & Unit 2 Vocabulary words with a focus on parts of speech, which is an area that the students have been struggling with. We are gong over study strategies in class on Monday.

1) Finish vocabulary worksheet (both sides) for Unit 1. Pay special attention to the parts of speech.
2) Categorize Unit 2 Words by part of speech. Use a different color for each Part of Speech.

Go online to Sadlier Vocabulary Workshop. Complete the practice quiz and practice/study the words 10 mins for the test on Friday.

Vocabulary Homework is due every 2 weeks. The test on a unit will be the following week. Students have been encouraged and taught to chunk this work over the week. It becomes too much to do during a single night.
We are currently on Unit 1.
The vocabulary homework is the same each unit, but the words and unit changes.
Choose the Right Word 1-25, Column on the left.
Synonyms 1-10 and Antonyms 1-5, COlumn on the Right, Top
Vocab in Context 1-5, Column on the Right, Bottom (Excluded for 6th grade)

Part of Speech Diagnostic
Students will complete a packet of questions about different parts of speech to show how well they understand this concept. This is graded for completeness and participation. I do not expect students to know all of these answers at this point, but they will by the end of the year.
