Haunted House Design Project

Your Haunted House Design Project is due on Tuesday if you have not finished it in class. I am attaching the rubric, symbols and building code.

Haunted House Design Project Requirements:

  1. The kitchen design must meet the building code.
  2. You must use the architectural symbols provided.
  3. The house must be one floor and have wheelchair access.
  4. It must include at least one bedroom, a kitchen, a laundry room, a bathroom, and closet. Everything else is up to you.
  5. All lines in the design must be straight.
  6. The scale needs to be 1 cm = 1 ft.
  7. Doors must be 3 feet wide.
  8. One room must have a distinct shape, not a rectangle. This will be your original for your transformations.
  9. Create one room by using a translation of another room.
  10. Create one room by using a rotation of another room.
  11. Create one room by using a reflection of another room.
  12. Create one room by using a dilation of another room.
  13. You must have one scary feature in each room of the house.
  14. You must describe this feature on a separate piece of paper.

Since the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in any home, I am asking you to take some time to examine your own kitchens. You will measure and sketch your kitchen at home. Remember, in construction it is important to be exact, do not round your measurements. You must include architectural symbols in your sketch. You will have one week to finish this assignment.
