Welcome to the 7th Grade Study Skills Class!The focus this year is on STUDY SKILLSThe 7th-grade class will take place on Wednesdays from 10:00-10:40 during 2nd trimester in Mrs. Wenzl's room starting January 4, 2023.Weekly lessons in study skills, learning styles, growth mindset, homework routine, active learning, active listening, etc.

(1) Complete the homework habits survey - pages 68/69

Homework packet for Growth Mindset & Learning Styles
The Homework packet for lessons in Growth Mindset & Learning Styles was handed out in class today.
Homework due next Wednesday, Feb 14th:
(1) If you did not already complete the online Learning Styles survey (link was emailed to all students) and complete page 40 in your packet, that will need to be completed as homework.
(2) Complete page 39 - Learning Styles - note that it has 2 parts to the instructions: circle and check box. In your homework packet, I accidentally identified this worksheet as page 37 - I apologize. The worksheet you need to complete is actually page 39 (not 37).
(3) Read pages 43 & 44 (in your packet) about Multi-modal learning.
(4) Research your 4 assigned websites. Your name should appear next to your 4 assigned websites on pages 46-49. Note which learning style each website may most benefit and give it an overall rating on pages 46-49.
(5) Of the 4 assigned websites, pick one to review more in depth (your favorite one or the one that you think is most beneficial). Complete pages 50 & 51 for just the one more in-depth website review.
(6) Turn in pages 50-51 next Wednesday, Feb 14th. Mrs. Fogliani will compile all student reviews into one reference document of helpful websites.

7th Grade Study Skills Homework assigned 1-31-24:
(1) Make a Study Skills section in your binder to include all the handouts provided today and in the future.
(2) Read and review all handouts provided today in class.
(3) After reading handout page 23, decide on at least one thing you plan to improve upon to help your brain perform better. Write this on a post-it or sticky note to add to a class poster next week.
(4) Treat your brain well this week! Eat healthy food, drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, and get 8-9 hours of sleep every night.

(2) Maintain an organized Binder or Accordion file system for class papers. You will need to create a new section for 7th grade Study Skills class. Binder checks next week!
