ELA 8 (Period 6) Assignments

7th B--ELA--12/15/2022--study Latin/Greek roots for tomorrow's quiz.

8th ELA--10/19/2022--continue to work on your high school admission letter.  Tomorrow, there will be meetings/conferences with those students who I have not met.  

 

Study your vocab words, practice using the words in sentences for the test on Friday, 10/21/2022.

8th ELA--9/26/2022--turn in completed flash draft via Teams page by Monday, class time at 1:00 PM.

Practice vocab words #11-20 and using them in sentences for the test on Friday, 9/30/2022.

8th ELA--9/27/2022--TURN IN DRAFT THAT WAS DUE TODAY, MONDAY, 9/27/2022.  Send directly to me if Teams is not cooperating for you.  

 

Vocab test, Friday, 9/30/2022--#11-20.  Study and think about/plan your sentences.

8th ELA--9/21/2022--finish reading the "unusual normality" short story.  Mark, underline, annotate points for you position, 1 or 2.  Be ready for debate tomorrow.  

If your essay is late, speak to me about it.  Tomorrow is the last call for the work.

Vocab test on Friday.  Practice definitions and sentences.  

8th ELA--9/19/2022--On Monday, there will be a Writer's Workshop pre-assessment.  For this work, think of a topic or issue that you know and care about strongly.  You will write an opinion or argument text in which you will write your opinion or claim and tell reasons why you feel that way.  If you want to find and use information from a book or another outside source, you bring that with you.

8th ELA--9/16/2022--bring in covered ELA book for completion check-in

8th ELA--9/16/2022--must have ELA book covered for book cover check tomorrow.

8th ELA--9/14/2022--complete the summer vacation assignment and turn in on Wednesday, 9/14/2022.  For this assignment choose a Meme or possibly a short video to show what your summer was like.  Please attach/include a short description of how the meme shows your summer.  There will be a gallery walk on Wednesday showing your work to your classmates.  This will include the written part.  Enjoy!
