SOS - 7th Grade - STUDY SKILLS Assignments

(1)  Take a photo of pages 192 & 193 - the worksheets we worked on together in class - and email them to [email protected] if you did not turn in at the end of class today.  This is due by 9:00 PM tonight.

(2)  Read Chapter 23 - Test Anxiety - pages 207-211 - to prepare for next week's lesson.

(3)  VERY IMPORTANT - bring your Study Skills workbook to school next Wednesday morning, June 2nd - you need to turn in your workbook in at the end of class.  Home learners can return their Study Skills workbook on the next drop off/pick up day.

Read Chapter 16 (pages 137-143) re the Cornell Note-Taking method.

 

Practice using abbreviations when you take notes in class.

(2)  In class, hopefully everyone had a chance to read Chapter 15 and started to complete page 134.  

(3)  Please finish page 134 as homework and we'll discuss it at our next class on April 14th

(4)  Reminder - you need to bring you workbook and your packet of papers for Study Skills class to every class - that is the only way to earn all participation points (and not lose points for not having your materials).

(5)  No need to complete the Weekly Power School check today.

(3)  Read Chapter 14 - Active Listening - pages 119-122 - you will be expected to discuss and answer questions about Active Listening in class next week

Second, complete pages 99-100 (worksheet can be found in your packet of papers that I copied for you.)   Email photo of competed pages 99-100 to Mrs. Foglani - [email protected].  This is due Tuesday night March 9th.

(1)  Complete pages 68-69 and send a photo of your completed work to Mrs. Fogliani at [email protected]

This is due Monday night at midnight - I will be 'grading' this on Tuesday.  Remember, 'grading' means did you do the assignment or not - please be truthful in your survey responses - having an accurate assessment of areas you could improve upon can only help you. 

 

(2)  Read Chapter 9 (pages 71-78) in your Study Skills workbook -  we will not have an individual lesson devoted to an Organized Workspace, but we will discuss highlights from this chapter next week before starting the next chapter.

Homework for week 15 - Learning Styles 

 

(1)  If you were absent last week, you need to read pages 35-40.  Complete workbook pages 39 and 40 and turn into Mrs. Fogliani's mailbox or email photo of completed worksheets.

(2)  In-class assignment for today (1-20) and next week (1-27):  Using the form on pages 46-49, review 4 websites (3 I have assigned to you, and one of your choice).  

(3)  For reference - see the attached file below of which website you have been assigned.

 

Week 14 Homework

 

Complete worksheet pages 39 and 40 (one of the handouts provided in the packet for SOS class).  You may turn in the actual physical paper to Mrs. Fogliani's mailbox in the school office OR you can take a photo of your completed pages and email them to Mrs. Fogliani at [email protected].  DUE midnight on Tuesday, January 19th.

 

 

Complete the Email to Brainy - page 24. Remember - do not write in your workbook - use the worksheet that was previously handed out. 

Options – (1) You can turn in the actual physical page to my mailbox in the school office if you attend school in-person.  OR (2) You can take a photo of your completed page 24 and email it to me at [email protected].  This is due on Tuesday, December 8^th  by 3:00 -  You must put your name on the bottom of page 24 in order to receive credit.  Remember - I cannot track down owners of ‘no name’ papers via ‘distance teaching’.

Complete the Metacognitive Homework Survey - pages 14 & 15 in the handout packet.  You need to complete this AFTER a homework session (so tonight or tomorrow night - NOT during the school day today!)

Options for submitting this assignment:

(1)  You can turn in the actual physical page to my mailbox in the school office OR 

(2) You can take a photo of each page separately and email those photos to me at [email protected].

Please take one photo of completed page 14 and one photo of completed page 15 so that I can easily see your responses.

You need to put your name on the top of page 14 in order to receive credit.

Directions:

(1)  Log into Power School - view your grades & missing assignments

(2) In Teams, complete the Weekly Power School Check (this is a Word document that students can edit).

(3)  List your Current Grades, Missing Assignments, and your Plan to Complete your Missing Assignments.

(4)  Email a copy to your parents.

(5) If you have any missing assignments, include Mrs. Fogliani on the email to your parents.

(6) This is due IN CLASS every Wednesday
