7th ELA--4/13/2021:  Today is an asynchronous day.  The work that I would like you to do today is to complete Unit 6 in the Greek/Latin packet.  Please do sections A-F of this unit.  This is the big packet that we have used before.  This work will be turned in tomorrow, Tuesday.  If you have misplaced the packet or somehow lost it, then silent read for 30 minutes.  This can go on your log for the week.
 
Also, on Tuesday in ELA you will be writing an essay for the beginning of the new Writer's Workshop unit.  This is an informational writing unit.  To prepare for tomorrow, please think of a topic that you know a lot about or have studied.   The essay tomorrow is an explanatory text that teaches someone else interesting or important information about it.  You may bring information, books, or papers with you tomorrow to write this essay.  It will be written with paper and pen; no laptops tomorrow.

Read and review the power point from today's Writer's Workshop lesson.  Complete the homework given on the last slide of the power point.  Complete the questions on Teams about your thinking/choice for a story idea--character, traits of character, and struggle the character has.  The struggle is important right now; the name is secondary.  Also, look in your packet at the handouts labeled for this lesson: G7, US1, L.2  Two of the sheets can be examples of an approach to figure this out that may help you.
