Thank you so much for your interest in St. Brendan Science Club! The St. Brendan Science Club is an after school, extra-curricular, student organization open to 3rd through 8th grade students attending St. Brendan Parish School. Registration is necessary to attend and is limited to the first 20 students to register. All sections of Science Club begin meeting in October. Registration for the 2016-17 school year will open September 8th. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Science Club website or found in the school office. Please contact the school office or Mr. Fairbank if you have any questions.
This year there are three sections of Science Club: Science Club I, II, and III. Science Club I is open to any St. Brendan student in 3rd or 4th grade. Science Club II is open to any student in 5th or 6th grade. Science Club III is open to any student in 7th or 8th grade. Each year in Science Club we conduct a variety of new experiments as well as revisit and expand upon some activities from the previous years. Each section of Science Club builds upon previous sections but it is not required that a student participate in one section to attend and be successful in the next.
The focus of study in all sections will involve multidisciplinary research, experiments, and projects in a variety of fields including biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. Students will participate in activities that are designed primarily to introduce students to new scientific ideas and allow the students to explore scientific concepts discussed in science class in greater depth and detail.
